New numbers from Gallup show that President Barack Obama's approval rating has fallen below 50 percent. This is a first for a president who enjoyed an impressive 70 percent approval rating following his inauguration.

Among men, Obama is now at 47 percent, falling from 53 percent four weeks ago. Obama maintains a slight majority of support among women - 53 percent, down from 59 percent a month ago.

Meanwhile, the Rasmussen reports daily presidential tracking poll today shows likely voter approval of presidential performance at 46 percent, the lowest level yet for Obama.

The controversy over healthcare reform and the still-sagging economy are likely to blame for Obama's dropping numbers.
